The must-do Sellaronda:

Ski-tours in the Dolomites

DolomitesThey're all talking about it: it's not only the best-known and most popular ski tour, but also one of the most evocative to be found in the Dolomites. Fans of alpine skiing and ski mountaineering have certainly heard of it, and everyone else will soon know about it: the Sellaronda.

This one-of-its-kind itinerary covers about 40 kilometres, crossing four alpine passes (Pordoi, Sella, Val Gardena and Campolongo), and four valleys (Fassa/Trento, Val Gardena/Alto Adige, Badia/Alto Adige and Arabba/Veneto) and winding around the Sella massif. And then, throughout your trip, there are those memorable views of the Dolomites, with their strangely formed peaks.

Length: 40 kilometres; Duration: about 2 hours (without stopping at the refuge); Degree of difficulty: medium (depending on the variant)
